There's a buzz reverberating around the online poker community at the moment that soon the problems faced by US players may be over. First, let's get this straight - online poker IS legal in the USA, it's just the transactions between poker rooms and financial institutions that are causing problems. Most American players have already realised they are still welcome at a few of the bigger poker rooms like
Full Tilt,
PokerStars,
Bodog and
Doyle's Room (who have just re-opened their doors to US players again), but there are some notable exceptions like
Party Poker,
Mansion and
Titan which still have a US ban. Even those rooms that do accept American players have had considerable problems enabling their players to deposit and withdraw funds - problems which could soon a thing of the past.

Running from the 10th to 14th of December the EPT descends on the beautiful City of Prague in the Czech Republic for 5 days of high tension, quality poker. The satellites and qualifiers for EPT Prague are well under way at

Just a reminder to anyone who signed up to Ladbrokes through us between September 24th and October 21st that your place is reserved in the Ladbrokes Affiliates tournament. Starting at 6pm GMT tonight (October 28th) there's a $1000 prizepool and only 71 players registered so far, so it's well worth taking part. Julien Thew – the very popular poker player from Nottingham, England is the EPT Baden Champion!
Julien beat a field of 281 other players to take the prize of €670,800, plus the €10,000 buy in to the EPT Grand Final in Monaco, April 2008.
He said he wanted to pay off his mortgage (he had £20,000 to go) before he was 40 and he made it with loads of cash to spare with 2 weeks to go! Well done Julien!
