Full Tilt Poker - Bonus or referral code? Does it matter?

Around the beginning of this month Full Tilt Poker changed their sign-up page to request a ‘referral code’ instead of a ‘bonus code’ to claim your first deposit bonus. We’re not quite sure why they did this, nor do we really care - it’s only a word after all.
