Ladbrokes launches 3D poker software

Ladbrokes Poker have just launched their brand new 3D poker room where you can play poker in a truly amazing 3D environment. Running alongside the current software you can choose to use stay with your current version or download the new 3D platform from the Ladbrokes homepage. The developers Playwize (of the 3D Pokerwize platform) are already well known for state of the art video games with outstanding graphics.
We asked a regular at Ladbrokes to take a look and give us a quick review on the new platform.
On the website they say it will take 25 minutes to download but it took at least twice as long as that to download the software, but, I gotta say it was worth it, what fun! Ladbrokes take you to an elegant casino where you can even change the camera angle (as on the tv) to suit you and zoom in on players to see the looks on their faces.
I really enjoyed designing my character (a posh avatar) because there are a wealth of features which means you can customise your look, choose your gender, skin tone, hair, facial features, accessories and clothes or randomise and let the computer choose your looks. Feeling adventurous? Then choose ‘freak’ and you will be made up from the weirdest combinations. With 70 humanlike movements, the characters even look themselves over when you change their tops, and make the most convincing victory animations when they win.
This really is a brilliant piece of kit with many features not least being able to practice, play and try strategies in a safe offline environment until you feel able to approach those online tables. You can call on Matt Broughton, star of Pokerzone TV, for tips using the advice module when needed. I joined as a poker virgin and they have promised to make me a poker stud!
There are so very many features that the feeling is that it has got to be a real winner for Laddies, but, after the initial fun of playing with the features - it isn’t that much better than the traditional software and perhaps you need less distractions rather than more when you become more serious about your poker game. So which software will I be using when I next play at Ladbrokes - the traditional or 3d? I’m not sure - the original will be more stable when multi-tabling, there are less distractions and I already know where everything is. But then again the 3D version is far more fun!
Why not take a look for yourself? Downloading the software is free, plus there’s a 100% up to $500 deposit bonus available to all new players (take a look at our Ladbrokes Poker Review for more details).
