PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) – Season 2 Schedule

August 23rd, 2008 | by Admin |

APPT - Asia Pacific Poker TourThe Pokerstars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) opens next month in Macau in the People’s Republic of China and satellites have been running for some time, your last chance to qualify is tomorrow the 24th August so, if you’re quick, you can still get to play poker in China next month, take a look at what’s still on offer by going through the PokerStars lobby – Events, then APPT. This first event in the tour is a nine day poker festival, 6 days of the Main Event then 3 days for the high rollers, both these events carry a prize pool of over $1,300,000 each! So get a move on and grab yourself a prize package worth $6,000 which includes buy in, hotel and expenses. The opening night party is scheduled for August 31st so get your bags packed! Minimum age is 18 years

So, you didn’t make it to China next month, don’t cry into your beer, the satellites to take you all the way to South Korea September 26th to 28th have started. The capacity for this leg of the tour is a much cosier at 250 players. As usual with PokerStars there is an array of satellites to suit all bankrolls, starting at just $2.00 or 50 *FPP’s, if you’re a sit n go fan then join in for just $7.50 or 500 FPP’s. Prize package includes buy in, accommodation at the venue (Paradise Walker Hill Hotel) and money for expenses. Minimum age is 19 years.

This fabulous Poker Tour then goes on to visit New Zealand, the Philippines and Australia, as a European these places are a long way from home and this Tour presents a terrific opportunity to combine my two favourite pastimes, playing poker (and hopefully bankroll boosting) with long haul travel. The satellites are easily tracked down through PokerStars lobby/Events then APPT - keep an eye on when your chosen event’s qualifier’s come on line – me, I’m going to take a shot at all of them!

Now, I’m not saying that you sit around in your PJ’s playing poker slobbing out in the privacy of your own pad, :$, but, for those of us who strive to play in a live event in a bricks and mortar casino, here’s a guide to the dress code. The dress code for most casinos has chilled out somewhat since James Bond frequented Casino Royale looking suave in his Tux, now you’re more likely to find ‘smart casual’ on the menu and that means no pyjamas, sandals, shorts, beach clothes, sportswear or ripped jeans. Don’t forget though, qualify through your favourite online poker site and you will be probably be proudly wearing their threads to show whose team you’re in.
